Senior Modern Workplace Engineer

Salary circa £47,500 - £62,500 subject to skills and experience

This is a great job for someone who enjoys being a trusted technical expert and making a real difference to how colleagues experience technology every day.

Are you someone who loves solving complex endpoint challenges, spotting opportunities to improve security and user experience, and working collaboratively across teams and partners?

Do you love to balance hands-on technical work with influencing direction, shaping standards and helping modern workplace services evolve at scale? This role would suit an experienced workplace engineer ready to operate as a senior specialist and adviser.

A bit about the job

This role exists to help design, improve and protect Aviva’s Modern Workplace estate, ensuring our colleagues have fast, secure and reliable access to the tools they need to do their best work. You’ll join a team focused on modern endpoint technology and M365, collaborating closely with security, architecture, networks and our outsourced partners. You’ll provide senior-level engineering expertise across workplace technologies, while supporting change, resolving complex issues and helping to shape future roadmaps. Ultimately, you’ll help raise the bar for colleague experience, resilience and security across Aviva.

Skills and experience we’re looking for

  • Strong hands-on experience managing and securing enterprise endpoints (Windows and Mac), including Intune, CSPs, patching and endpoint hardening
  • Practical experience with modern workplace and endpoint technologies such as M365 E5, enterprise browsers, VPN/proxy solutions and endpoint tooling
  • Confidence working in a regulated environment, with a good understanding of security, risk, compliance and vulnerability management
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues using analytical tools, data and telemetry to make informed recommendations
  • Experience collaborating with multiple teams and third-party partners to deliver improvements and service quality at scale

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
