Senior Molecular Biologist - DNA Synthesis
Location: London
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive, DOE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Molecular Biologist to join an innovative biotech start-up developing cutting-edge DNA synthesis technology. This is a hands-on role within a small, ambitious team, offering the chance to make a real impact as the business moves towards commercialisation.
The Role
- Lead the development and optimisation of molecular biology workflows, working across DNA synthesis, DNA sequencing and laboratory automation.
- Take ownership of experiments, troubleshoot technical challenges, analyse sequencing data using Python, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop scalable processes.

About You
We're looking for someone with:
- At least 5 years strong hands-on molecular biology experience.
- Experience with Nanopore and Sanger sequencing.
- Knowledge of automated liquid handling platforms.
- Python skills for sequencing or scientific data analysis.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience working in early-stage industry environments.
- Ideally DNA synthesis experience.
