Senior National Account Manager

Senior National Account Manager (Sainsbury’s & Morrisons) – Grocery FMCG

We’re partnering with a leading FMCG food business behind one of the UK’s most iconic and best-loved grocery brands. With a strong presence across the major multiples and a track record of category leadership, the business continues to grow through innovation, strategic retailer partnerships, and a genuine commitment to commercial excellence.

As the business scales its commercial team, they are seeking a Senior National Account Manager for Sainsbury’s & Morrisons. This role is ideal for an experienced National Account Manager or Senior National Account Manager looking to take the next career step—or to expand their role in a business that invests significantly in its people and commercial strategies.

The Opportunity

You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and growing strategic retailer relationships, spotting commercial opportunities, and delivering business growth plans across the category. The role requires someone comfortable balancing high-level retailer negotiations with hands-on execution, forecasting, and promotional planning.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Leading joint business plans (JBPs) and shaping promotional activity
  • Driving innovation projects and commercial initiatives for long-term value creation
  • Developing and growing relationships with major grocery accounts and internal stakeholders alike

What You’ll Be Doing

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and enhance strategic relationships with key grocery accounts and internal teams
  • Lead the development and delivery of joint business plans and commercial growth strategies
  • Generate value through innovation, category initiatives, and promotional activity
  • Meet financial targets and performance objectives under clear commercial controls
  • Provide commercial insights and recommendations to support senior decision-making
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, reporting, and performance tracking

What We’re Looking For

Essential Criteria

  • Strong National or Senior National Account Management experience within grocery FMCG
  • Proven ability to manage and grow major retailer relationships
  • Skilled in Joint Business Planning (JBP) and commercial negotiations, with a focus on profitable growth
  • Commercially astute with a solid understanding of P&L, trade investment, and category performance
  • Confident influencer who can engage and align stakeholders—both internally and externally

Preferred Traits

  • Proactive and solution-focused, with the ability to operate at pace while balancing multiple priorities
  • Comfortable both leading strategic discussions and executing tactical plans

Ways of Working

  • 2 days a week in Maidenhead, with travel expenses covered if required
