Senior National Account Manager

National Account Manager – FMCG (Healthcare Focus) – Strategic Growth Role

About the Role

Are you a commercially astute National Account Manager with a hunger for new business and a talent for opening doors? We are partnering with a dynamic, market-leading FMCG manufacturer to recruit a collaborative professional to lead one of their growing divisions, now expanding rapidly within a key commercial area.

This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of a strategic channel, blending new business development with key account growth—not just maintaining the status quo, but shaping strategy, driving brand presence, and mentoring a team in an open, supportive culture.

Ideal candidates should possess:

  • A proven track record in FMCG, particularly within healthcare.
  • A hunger to make tangible commercial impact.

Support for the application is available now—faltering is not an option for suitable candidates.

The Responsibilities

As the Senior National Account Manager, you will be the driving force behind commercial strategy at our client’s organisation. Reporting directly to the Head of Sales, your responsibilities are:

  • Own the channel P&L and accelerate growth across healthcare, facilties management, hospitality, education, and broader FMCG markets.
  • Lead new business development—this is a "door-knocking" role:
    • Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities.
    • Build and maintain new commercial relationships.
    • Close high-value deals.
  • Manage key strategic accounts:
    • Expand relationships with major UK distribution groups.
  • Drive commercial strategy across both own-label and branded products:
    • Define and execute growth plans.
    • Develop launch strategies, promotional calendars, and disruptive in-store strategies.
  • Lead and mentor a high-potential team:
    • Provide commercial guidance and upskill junior team members beyond traditional managerial responsibilities.
    • Foster a culture of teamwork, leadership development, and solutions-focused problem-solving.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally:
    • Engage closely with sales, marketing, category, R&D, and supply chain teams to ensure product excellence, pricing strategy, and service optimisation.
  • Make data-driven decisions:
    • Utilise market insights and customer feedback to refine strategies and strengthen product propositions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
