Senior National Account Manager – Managed Retail
At Proper, we believe snacks can taste amazing and do good. We’re the team behind Propercorn and Properchips — bold, better-for-you snacks that punch above their weight on flavour, creativity, and purpose. As a certified B Corp, we’re serious about sustainability and shaking up the snacking category for good.
We’re now looking for a passionate, commercially sharp Senior National Account Manager – Managed Retail to lead our growth in the managed retail channel — bringing Proper to more consumers across Symbols, Indies, Forecourts & the High St.
The Person
This person will have a tenacious go-getter attitude, comfortable with working at pace and a passion for growing through teams but being happy to get stuck in!
They will thrive off building strong internal and external relationships and finding true innovative solutions for problems and never being happy with making the best of what we currently have.
The Role
As a Snr National Account Manager, you’ll own and grow Proper’s Managed Retail relationships. You’ll lead a small but mighty team, shaping and delivering the channel strategy, managing key wholesalers and operators, and ensuring Proper remains the go-to snack brand across impulse occasions.
This is a high-impact, strategic role with end-to-end responsibility for commercial performance, customer relationships, and channel development.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and deliver the retail growth strategy in line with Proper’s brand and commercial goals.
- Lead customer planning across key national customers (e.g. Booker, Spar, Nisa, WHS, Boots, BP etc.).
- Develop and implement joint business plans to drive distribution, visibility, and rate of sale.
- Identify and unlock new opportunities across the managed retail space.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
