Senior Neighbourhood Housing Officer

Starting salary: £44,937 pa (rising in annual increments to £47,925 per annum), including London Weighting (LW).

Work pattern: Hybrid working

About the Team

The Neighbourhood Housing Management Team delivers frontline housing services to Lambeth’s tenants, leaseholders, and stakeholders, handling:

  • Casework and complex enquiries
  • Dispute resolution
  • Complaint investigation

About the Role

This is a key leadership position overseeing a team of Housing Officers to deliver an exceptional neighbourhood housing service. You’ll lead from the front, providing technical expertise, resolving disputes, and fostering high standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Tenancy management: Overseeing transfers, successions, assignments, and mutual exchanges
  • Estate service coordination: Managing cleaning, grounds maintenance, refuse collection
  • Estate improvements: Implementing upgrades such as lighting, parking, cycle storage
  • Fire risk mitigation: Reducing hazards in communal areas
  • Resident engagement: Addressing complex customer issues and supporting vulnerable residents
  • Repairs coordination: Managing resident enquiries and repair requests
  • Performance and improvement: Driving quality assurance, standards, and continuous enhancements

Requirements

To excel in this role, you should demonstrate:

  • Proven leadership experience in managing teams or projects
  • Extensive housing management experience (preferably frontline or operational)
  • Technical authority capable of advising teams on complex or specialised issues
  • Performance oversight skills to set high standards and drive improvement
  • Strong customer focus and the ability to collaborate across residents, teams, and partner organisations
