Senior Net Zero Manager - Private Sector

Experienced Net Zero Senior Manager with a strong building services background to lead the delivery on our increasing number of Net Zero carbon projects and programmes across the Private Sector.

The successful candidate will join our existing Net Zero Retrofit team within the c.175 people strong Responsible Business Team.

The role will involve leading Net Zero projects with the responsibility for a multidisciplinary team to deliver Net Zero Roadmaps for our clients, be client facing and with responsibility for managing the client relationship and ensuring high quality outcomes are successfully delivered.

You will work with both internal and external project and design teams to deliver high quality clear and deliverable Net Zero Roadmaps to for our clients to achieve their goals and ambitions.

Our Net Zero Retrofit team includes energy managers, architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, energy auditors and energy modelers. We deliver Net Zero projects and programmes nationally and globally for public and private sectors including government departments, local authorities and private developers.

A key element to this role is to be able to take complicated technical engineering topics and being able to communicate in a clear and effective manner which enables key stakeholders to make decisions.

This role will be based out of our London office with site and client visits and a circa three days office/client site and two days working from home. We are also open to discussing flexible, and hybrid working options if suitable within the role.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

Lead the delivery our Net Zero Retrofit Service offer on projects through the development of Net Zero Roadmaps/Programmes for individual buildings through to global property portfolios. Project leadership of a team of Net Zero consultants to deliver measurable outcomes for our clients through service excellence. Client facing role leading project delivery and support in the growth of existing and development of new accounts. Support Net Zero work winning through expanding existing client relationships and provide bid support. Conduct Net Zero audits to deliver Net Zero feasibility studies and delivery strategies, including detailed energy and carbon saving calculations. Detailed energy data analysis. Researching new low carbon system/technology opportunities to meet clients unique requirements. Incorporating financial analysis into Net Zero Roadmaps/Retrofit Strategies. Reporting on asset performance against both client and industry targets (SBTi, NZCBS, etc.) and conducting CRREM analysis. Provide technical assurance in reviewing contractor’s proposals and advising on subsequent design developments during the pre and post-tender stage. Provide Net Zero advice and support to address the major issues of sustainability with all relevant stakeholders and be able to upskill the project teams you work with. Support the digitization of Mace’s Net Zero Retrofit Service. Championing sustainability, being a leader and encouraging behavioural change throughout the business. Upskilling of colleagues and external profile-raising of Mace/Mace services Representing Mace at relevant forums, working groups, and client presentations Line management with responsibility for upskilling and career development. Innovating and championing best practice, clearly communicating benefits and results to colleagues and clients.

Strong engineering (Building Services) background with >5 years of experience. Detailed knowledge of building energy systems and energy reduction opportunities across a range of different building types and sectors. Proven track record of delivering Net Zero Roadmaps/Energy Audits with measurable outcomes. Strong experience working with clients to identify their goals and requirements, carbon reduction opportunity identification and strategies in the built environment. Proven client relationship management and stakeholder engagement experience. Excellent verbal, visual, and written communication skills and be able to translate your strong technical knowledge into clear actions to articulate the value of Net Zero. Relevant tertiary qualification - Professional memberships (e.g., EMA, CIBSE, ASHRAE, EI, GRI, CISL, post graduate degree) Strong knowledge of sustainable building design, including embodied and operational carbon and energy reduction, in new build and refurbishment projects, including programme, cost and operational impacts of NZC strategies. Track record of client account management and work winning. Strong project management and time management skills. Problem solver with ability to think laterally and adapt previous experience and solutions to new project/programme contexts. Be a proactive, self-motivated individual who is able to work independently and able to complete all stages of a Net Zero roadmap with minimal support and oversight. Be familiar with industry frameworks such as SBTI, NZCBS, CRREM, RIBA
