Senior Network Engineer
Network Architect – Key Accountabilities
Core Responsibilities
- Design computer networks, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and intranets.
- Compare and recommend network hardware, such as routers, switches, access points, and firewalls.
- Research and implement network software, including monitoring applications.
- Collaborate closely with IT teams and business support teams to align network design with organizational goals.
- Design and integrate VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and other telecommunications systems.
- Mentor and supervise IT team members in network setup and configuration.
- Exercising strong soft skills, including critical thinking, verbal and written communication, and leadership.
- Continuously evaluate emerging network technologies to optimize performance, security, and efficiency.
- Test and evaluate network performance periodically, adjusting and redesigning networks where needed.

Additional Duties
- Upgrade components in existing networks, including installing new routers, switches, and security software to enhance operations.
- Monitor networking systems and make necessary adjustments or minor repairs to ensure smooth functionality.

In-depth knowledge of communication technologies, including wireless networking, mobile applications, and telecommunications systems.

Hardware & Networking Proficiency
- Hands-on experience with:
- Fortinet firewalls
- Juniper routers & switches
- Cisco routers & switches
- Strong troubleshooting skills for complex IP networks and hardware issues.
Protocol & Architecture Mastery
- In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with:
- LAN/WAN architecture
- Troubleshooting in complex network environments
- IP routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, RIP
- Spanning Tree Protocol (STP)
- Multicast networking
Experience Requirements
- 8–15 years in network or data center (DC) environments.
- Experience titles include:
- Network Administrator
- Network Architect
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
