Job Description
This role covers the implementation, management, maintenance, and support of all network infrastructure, perimeter security systems, and network management platforms and offers the chance to become the authority on these subjects.
Employees within this area are expected to work independently and use their own initiative. They perform the full range of duties required in providing solutions to our health customer base and will have advanced general troubleshooting skills. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and will be fully aware of operating procedures and policies.
Employees will work as part of a mature managed service team delivering project and managed services work into our UK&I Enterprise Health managed service customers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ownership and accountability of the detailed engineering, scheduling, documentation, and rollout for implementation projects.
- Design and implementation of the network infrastructure.
- Liaison with customer, design authority, and project manager to capture all user and system requirements in order to define the design requirements specification.
- Ensure that all projects are completed within deadlines and to the highest standards.
- Development and ownership of documentation.
- Low-level design of network and security infrastructure (LAN / WAN / WLAN / Firewalls / Application Delivery Controllers etc.).
- Integration and handover of implemented systems to operational teams.
- Continual improvement of the systems based on changing demands.
- Liaising with various departments within the Enterprise Health business unit.
- Coordinating with 3rd party suppliers and partners to support, maintain, and implement these systems.
- Integrity and control of business data.
- Control and support of Internet access.
- Ensuring business data is backed up and securely held off-site.
- Datacentre and customer premises visits for hardware and software maintenance and installation.
- 24/7 support cover.
Qualifications
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- Broad working knowledge of Datacentre network disciplines.
- Broad technical knowledge of Network Technologies.
- Excellent knowledge of LAN / WAN / WLAN management.
- A good understanding of Firewalls.
- A good understanding of IT Networks infrastructure.
- The ability to work on one's own initiative and to address and resolve problems in a busy environment.
- Able to resolve incidents in the Network environment used by the customer.
- Good working knowledge of incident, problem, and change management processes and procedures.
- Demonstrable experience in troubleshooting techniques to determine root cause.
- Working as part of a managed service team delivering outsourced managed services.
- ITIL process knowledge.

Additional Information
- Must have the right to live and work in the UK.
- Due to our location, access to one's own transport is essential.
- Must meet Security Clearance requirements if this is a requirement of the role and any offer would be conditional upon the successful candidate passing BPSS which includes a criminal record check.
- This role requires participation in 24/7 On-call, which operates on a rotational basis.
