Network Security Engineer (Fortinet)
Location: Remote
Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 DOE
Overview
We are looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer to join a growing technical operations team, providing day-to-day support across a range of enterprise customer environments. This is a hands-on operational role focused on monitoring, diagnostics, troubleshooting and maintaining secure network infrastructures, with a particular emphasis on Fortinet technologies.
The position is primarily home-based, although candidates should be located within the North West, ideally around the Manchester area, to enable occasional customer workshops and team collaboration when required.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational support for enterprise network security environments.
- Monitor, diagnose and resolve network and security incidents.
- Support, administer and maintain Fortinet security platforms.
- Carry out troubleshooting across firewall, routing and switching environments.
- Manage configuration changes, software updates and security policies.
- Escalate and resolve complex technical issues where required.
- Work closely with customers and internal technical teams to ensure service excellence.
- Participate in occasional customer workshops and technical meetings.
- Maintain documentation and contribute to continual service improvements.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience supporting Fortinet security solutions.
- Hands-on experience with:
- FortiGate
- FortiCloud
- FortiFlex
- FortiManager
- Fortinet Security solutions (FortiSecurity ecosystem)
- Good Cisco networking experience, including routing and switching.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving network and security issues within production environments.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VPNs, VLANs, routing, switching and firewall technologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Customer-focused with strong communication skills.
