Location: Hybrid (Leicester) Salary: Up to £57,000 + Benefits
Are you an experienced Network Infrastructure Engineer with a passion for enterprise networking? Do you enjoy working in complex environments where networking sits at the heart of the infrastructure?
We're looking for a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer to join a well-established organisation with a large-scale enterprise environment. This role is heavily focused on Cisco networking, while also requiring strong Microsoft infrastructure and VMware expertise to support the wider IT estate.
The Role
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining, supporting and improving a large enterprise network alongside the wider Microsoft infrastructure environment. You'll provide 3rd line support, lead technical projects and act as a senior escalation point for complex networking and infrastructure issues.
You'll work across both BAU support and project delivery, including network upgrades, server migrations, Microsoft infrastructure improvements, VMware upgrades and technology refreshes.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, support and maintain enterprise Cisco network infrastructure.
- Configure and troubleshoot routing, switching, MPLS and VRF technologies.
- Support large campus network environments.
- Administer and support Microsoft Windows Server environments.
- Manage and maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP.
- Support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Entra ID (Azure AD) and Intune where required.
- Administer VMware virtual infrastructure.
- Deliver infrastructure and network projects including server upgrades, migrations and platform improvements.
- Act as the senior technical escalation point for networking and infrastructure issues.
- Produce technical documentation and follow ITIL best practices.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years' commercial experience supporting enterprise infrastructure.
- Strong hands-on Cisco networking experience, including:
- Cisco Routing & Switching
- Enterprise Campus Networks
- MPLS
- VRF
- CCNA and/or CCNP level networking knowledge (certification or equivalent commercial experience).
- Strong experience with Microsoft technologies, including:
- Windows Server
- Active Directory
- Group Policy
- DNS & DHCP
- Microsoft 365
- Entra ID (Azure AD)
- VMware administration experience.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP and network security principles.
- Experience working within large enterprise environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Cisco CCNP certification.
- Azure IaaS administration.
- Microsoft Azure.
- PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Storage technologies (SAN/NAS).
- Backup solutions such as Veeam.
- Experience working within an ITIL environment.
