Senior Network Technology Consultant
Senior Network Technology Consultant – Fixed Term (6 Months)
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Network Technology Consultant on a 6-month fixed term contract basis to support the ongoing evolution of our network.
In this role, you will:
- Provide technical consultation to guide critical network and technology investments.
- Collaborate with architecture, engineering, planning teams, and vendors to evaluate concept proposals, provide high-level options, costs, and lead times.
- Work closely with finance teams to develop robust investment cases, ensuring measurable costs and benefits across hundreds of millions of capital spend in the UK fixed network.

Responsibilities
- Guide strategic network technology decisions during critical investment phases.
- Partner with vendors, architecture, and engineering teams to refine high-level options, costs, and timelines.
- Ensure alignment between technical feasibility, financial viability, and operational priorities.
Requirements – The Must-Haves
Must possess:
- Strong, proven technical knowledge of the fixed network.
- Experience creating domain-specific roadmaps for engineering functions.
- Advanced Excel proficiency for data analysis and projections.
- Ability to develop technical briefing packs for stakeholders.
- A track record of innovation driving improvements in access network and customer experience.
Nice-to-Haves
Ideally, you will also have:
- Experience in Tier 1 carrier-class network solutions, particularly for network access products.
- Deep expertise in PON technology (e.g., XGSPON, OLTs, virtualisation, L2 aggregation).
- Practical or theoretical knowledge of emerging technologies like SR-MPLS or VMAN networking.
