Senior NFT Test Engineer – Barclays (via Hackajob)

About the Role
Join Hackajob as a Senior NFT Test Engineer at Barclays, where you’ll steer the evolution of our infrastructure and deployment pipelines to drive innovation and operational excellence.
Your role will involve leveraging advanced technologies to design and manage scalable, secure, and robust infrastructure—ensuring seamless delivery of digital solutions.
Location: Northampton or Knutsford
Key Objectives
The primary purpose of this role is to:
- Design, develop, and execute testing strategies to validate functionality, performance, and user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, resolve defects, and continuously improve testing processes.
- Ensure software quality and reliability through structured testing methodologies.
Responsibilities
Core Accountabilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and strategies to validate software functionality and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Create and execute automated test scripts using testing frameworks/tools for early defect detection.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to:
- Analyse requirements
- Participate in design discussions
- Contribute to acceptance criteria
- Conduct root cause analysis on identified defects and support defect resolution with developers.
- Promote collaborative code reviews and maintain a culture of code quality.
- Stay updated on emerging tech trends and contribute to industry innovation.

Qualifications
Core Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience in Non-Functional Testing (NFT) for mobile applications.
- Strong technical knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
- Deep Java expertise for analysing application logic and scoped test coverage.
- Skilled in designing and executing:
- Load tests
- Stress tests
- Endurance tests for mobile applications
Valued Bonus Skills
- Leadership strengths:
- Managing testers
- Sprint planning
- Identifying project risks
- Analytical aptitude to:
- Interpret test results
- Deliver actionable insights
- Familiarity with behavioural testing tools such as Cucumber
