Senior Care Assistant (Nights)

Hourly Rate: £14.71 per hour Location: Derwent Care Home Contract: Permanent

About the Role

At Derwent, we are searching for an experienced Senior Care Assistant (Nights) with leadership skills and hands-on care expertise. In this role, you will provide exceptional care to residents while mentoring, supporting, and supervising your team. If you have a proven track record in care, including supervisory experience, this could be the ideal opportunity for you to empower both your colleagues and residents.


What’s the Job About?

As a Senior Care Assistant (Nights), your responsibilities will blend direct care with supportive management, ensuring that every resident receives compassionate, personalised, and dignified care.

  • Mentoring and Team Support

    • Coach and train your team to develop the skills and confidence needed to deliver high-quality care.
    • Foster a safe and nurturing environment where colleagues can grow, ask questions, and perform at their best.
  • Resident-Centred Care

    • Assist residents with personal care tasks (e.g., bathing, dressing, mobility support) with patience and respect.
    • Ensure every resident’s privacy, dignity, and independence are at the heart of your role.
  • Care Planning and Coordination

    • Contribute to developing and updating individualised care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
    • Ensure your team consistently follows care protocols, maintaining the highest standards of care delivery.

  • Medication Management -Administer medication safeguardedly and compassionately, recording all dispenses accurately.
    • Monitor medication adherence and report any anomalies to senior staff.
