Senior NPD Manager – SURI

We’re a close-knit team of experts who thrive on attention to detail and unconventional thinking. We’re now looking to bolster our Innovation team by adding a Senior NPD Manager to support the efficient, effective, and on-time delivery of our innovation pipeline.

About the Role

The Senior NPD Manager will be an essential part of the SURI Innovation team, working closely with Supply Chain & Operations to ensure that we have the right processes, structure, vendors, and resources in place to deliver global launches OTIF (On-Time, In-Full) at the right cost, quality, and sustainability standards.

Responsibilities

70% – Lead the Development & Delivery of the Innovation Pipeline

  • Own the end-to-end development and delivery of SURI’s innovation pipeline across wet products, consumables, and selected commercial innovation initiatives within the existing hardware portfolio.
  • Lead the development of SURI’s wet and consumable product portfolio, including toothpaste and future adjacent categories.
  • Translate innovation opportunities into compelling product concepts, propositions, and launch plans.
  • Lead projects from concept to launch, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and compliant delivery to quality and sustainability standards.
  • Work closely with formulators, manufacturers, packaging suppliers, and technical partners to develop best-in-class products and consumer experiences.
  • Challenge suppliers and partners to introduce new technologies, ingredients, formats, and manufacturing capabilities that create meaningful differentiation.
  • Lead consumer testing programmes, leveraging qualitative and quantitative insights to inform product decisions.
  • Build robust business cases and commercial assessments, balancing consumer desirability, technical feasibility, and financial viability.
  • Drive selected commercial innovations, including:
    • Limited editions
    • Colourways & artist/brand collaborations
    • Gifting propositions
    • Exclusive retailer launches
    • Seasonal activations
  • Develop and evaluate partnership opportunities to accelerate brand awareness, customer acquisition, or category expansion, collaborating with Brand, Commercial, and Growth teams.
  • Identify opportunities to increase customer lifetime value through:
    • New bundles
    • Kits and accessories
    • Cross-category propositions across the SURI ecosystem
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Commercial, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and Regulatory teams for successful global launches.
  • Monitor category trends, consumer behaviour, and competitive developments globally, identifying emerging opportunities for SURI.
  • Serve as the day-to-day leader for wet innovation projects, coaching and managing the NPD Executive while fostering a high-performance innovation culture.
  • Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and delivery challenges, driving solutions and clear decision-making to maintain launch timelines.

15% – Innovation Governance & Portfolio Management

  • Assist in managing and prioritising SURI’s innovation roadmap, focusing resources on the highest-impact opportunities.
  • Lead preparation for Commercial Sign-Off (CSO) meetings, ensuring projects are scoped, costed, and data-supported.
  • Maintain clear visibility of:
    • Project status
    • Investment requirements
    • Launch timing
    • Key risks across the portfolio
  • Partner with Finance to track innovation investment, business cases, and project performance against objectives.
  • Continuously improve innovation processes, governance, and launch excellence as SURI scales.

15% – External Innovation & Strategic Partnerships

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with:
    • Leading manufacturers
    • Formulators
    • Packaging suppliers
    • Ingredient houses
    • Testing partners
    • Regulatory experts
  • Identify and evaluate new technologies, ingredients, materials, and supplier capabilities to strengthen innovation.
  • Support supplier selection, qualification, and onboarding with Operations and Supply Chain teams.
  • Represent SURI at:
    • Industry events
    • Supplier innovation days
    • Trade shows, bringing fresh thinking and external insights into the business.
  • Collaborate with strategic partners to unlock exclusive innovation opportunities and future category expansion.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in NPD, Innovation, Product Development, or R&D, preferably in FMCG, beauty, personal care, wellness, or oral care.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching consumer products from concept to commercialisation.
  • Familiarity with best-in-class project management tools and stage-gate processes.
  • Strong understanding of operations, supply chain, manufacturing, and logistics.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity, solve problems, and take proactive action in uncertain environments.
  • Data-driven, with strong analytical and report-writing skills and technical proficiency.
  • Exceptional collaborator and communicator, with ability to influence stakeholders across technical and non-technical functions.
  • Track record of delivery in fast-paced environments, ideally in a growing business.
  • Passion for innovation, sustainability, and building transformative consumer brands.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort in ambiguity and fast decision-making.
  • Experience working directly with:
    • Formulations
    • Packaging development
    • Manufacturers
    • External development partners
