Senior NPD Manager (Wet products)

About SURI
We have a close-knit team of experts with a strong attention to detail and willingness to think differently. We’re now looking for someone to bolster our Innovation team to support the efficient, effective, and on-time delivery of a pipeline of exciting innovations to market.
The Role
You’ll join as a Senior NPD Manager, an integral part of the SURI Innovation team, while partnering closely with Supply Chain & Operations. Your core responsibility will be ensuring that we have the right processes, structure, vendors, and resources available to deliver global launches OTIF at the right cost, quality and sustainability.
Responsibilities
Innovation Pipeline: 70%

Lead the development and delivery of SURI’s innovation pipeline across wet products, consumables and selected commercial initiatives, including:
- Wet products (e.g., toothpaste, future adjacent categories)
- Hardware-sided innovations (e.g., limited editions, artist collaborations, seasonal activations)

Translate innovation opportunities into compelling product concepts, propositions, and launch plans.

Manage projects from concept to launch, ensuring:
- On-time delivery
- Budget adherence
- Alignment with SURI’s quality and sustainability standards

Collaborate with:
- Formulators
- Manufacturers
- Packaging suppliers
- Technical partners

Challenge suppliers and development partners to:
- Pursue new technologies
- Incorporate new ingredients
- Explore new formats and manufacturing capabilities

Lead consumer testing programs, utilising qualitative and quantitative insights to shape product decisions.

Build robust business cases balancing:
- Consumer desirability
- Technical feasibility
- Financial viability

Develop partnership opportunities to drive:
- Awareness
- Customer acquisition
- Category expansion (collaborations with Brand, Commercial and Growth teams).

Increase customer lifetime value through:
- New bundles, kits, and accessories
- Cross-category propositions across the SURI ecosystem.

Partner with Marketing, Commercial, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance and Regulatory Teams to drive successful global launches.

Monitor category, consumer, and competitive developments globally to identify emerging trends.

Act as day-to-day leader for wet innovation projects:
- Coach, develop and manage the NPD Executive.
- Foster a high-performance innovation culture.

Proactively identify risks, dependencies and delivery challenges, driving solutions and clear decision-making to maintain launch timelines.
Innovation Governance & Portfolio Management: 15%

Manage and prioritise SURI’s innovation roadmap, focusing resources on highest-impact opportunities.

Lead preparation for Commercial Sign-Off (CSO) meetings, ensuring projects are scoped, costed and data-supported.

Maintain visibility of:
- Project status
- Investment requirements
- Launch timing
- Key risks

Partner with Finance to:
- Track innovation investment
- Monitor business case performance against objectives

Improve innovation processes, establishing:
- Best-in-class governance
- Launch excellence as SURI scales
External Innovation & Strategic Partnerships: 15%

Build relationships with:
- Manufacturers
- Formulators
- Packaging suppliers
- Ingredient houses
- Testing and regulatory partners

Identify and evaluate:
- New technologies
- Ingredients, materials and supplier capabilities

Support supplier selection, qualification and onboarding alongside Operations and Supply Chain.

Represent SURI at:
- Industry events
- Supplier innovation days
- Trade shows

Collaborate with strategic partners to drive:
- Exclusive innovation opportunities
- Future category expansion
Requirements

6+ years’ experience in:
- NPD, Innovation, Product Development or R&D, primarily within:
- FMCG
- Beauty
- Personal care
- Wellness
- Oral care
- NPD, Innovation, Product Development or R&D, primarily within:

Proven track record of successfully launching consumer products from concept to market.

Familiarity with stage-gate project management tools and processes.

Strong understanding of:
- Operations
