Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer

Job Description

Overview

Shaping a smarter, more agile world. You might know us for the great work we do across our wide variety of projects.

We're proud to say it’s thanks to our people’s diversity of thought, expertise and knowledge. And when you join us, you'll be a part of this genuinely collaborative environment, where everyone's voice is valued and treated equally.

We're passionate about what we do, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. Simply put, this is a great place to be.

So, when it comes to your life outside of work, ask us about our flexible and remote working policies, designed to help you get the most out of life.

The Role: Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer, Advanced Engineering Delivery & Consultancy (AEDC)

As a Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer, you'll play a vital role in shaping your projects. Working alongside talented colleagues across all disciplines, you’ll:

  • Provide safety case leadership, support and delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to develop and implement solutions for their most complex problems.

While your office base will be in Glasgow, flexibility in work location will be a must—clients may occasionally require work to be delivered on-site.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll be involved in all aspects of safety case support, including:

  • Shaping the nuclear safety case strategy.
  • Working closely with project partners to ensure a safety-informed design.
  • Engaging with stakeholders (including designers, clients, site teams, and regulatory bodies such as DNSRB and ONR) to enable ‘Right First Time’ delivery.
  • Undertaking safety assessments and analyses (e.g., HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, HAZAN).
  • Producing safety reports and technical documents (e.g., PSR, PCSR, ALARP reports).
  • Supporting Engineering Substantiation activities.
  • Managing/leading Safety Case activities and teams.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
