Band 8a Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist (Neuro-Developmental Team – Children & Adolescents)
The Neuro-Developmental Team at Ealing CAMHS is seeking a ** Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist** with specialist experience in children and adolescents’ mental health, particularly those requiring assessments and intervention for neurodevelopmental conditions.
About the Team & Role
The role sits within Tier 3 CAMHS, collaborating closely with:
- Tier 2 CAMHS
- Crisis Prevention & Care Team (ALLIANCE)
- CAMHS Eating Disorder Service
- Child & Family, Learning Disability, and Adolescent teams
Entry requirements & attributes:
- Essential: Clinical nursing experience in child/adolescent mental health settings.
- Must demonstrate creative problem-solving, leadership, cross-cultural competency, and strong collaborative communication skills.
- Ability to provide autonomous assessment, person-centred care, and evidence-informed interventions for complex needs.

The post holder will engage in:
- Specialist diagnostic assessments (autism, ADHD, tic disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions).
- Individual, family and group interventions.
- Risk assessment & management.
Core Responsibilities
Clinical Practice
- Deliver individual assessments using standardised tools: ADI-R and ADOS.
- Develop and deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions (CBT, parenting programmes and grounding strategies).
- Work within a broad spectrum of neurodevelopmental profiles, utilising expertise and training systems.
Supervision & Team Development
- Provide clinical supervision for CAMHS nurses.
- Support the nursing team with emerging practice and service improvement through audit, research and quality systems.
Organisational Contribution
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary CAMHS teams.
- Participate in NHS clinical supervision structures.
