Senior Nurse - Cardiff and the Vale

Senior Nurse – Cardiff and the Vale – Full Job Description

About Marie Curie

Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care nationwide. Our care and support is highly valued by those we help and their loved ones, though currently, we only reach around 10% of dying people. One in four people with a terminal illness in the UK does not get the care they deserve.

Our mission is to close the gap in end-of-life services through:

  • Expanding and transforming direct care and support
  • Providing practical information and guidance
  • Shaping the future of end-of-life care

The Role

We are recruiting a Senior Nurse to proactively identify patients nearing the end of their lives. You will:

  • Facilitate supportive conversations about their wishes and preferences.
  • Collaborate with Health Boards, patients, and their families to undertake holistic assessments, including advance care planning and treatment escalation plans.
  • Support fast-track assessments and care planning for safe and timely discharges.
  • Work with our Marie Curie Hospice Care at Home Service to integrate patients into the community where appropriate.
  • Partner with multi-disciplinary and palliative care teams to ensure continuity of care.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
