Join Our Team as a Senior Nursery Practitioner!

At Northfield, we’re looking for an enthusiastic Senior Nursery Practitioner to guide and support our team in providing outstanding care and education. In this rewarding leadership role, you’ll have the opportunity to mentor, nurture, and create a positive impact for children, families, and your colleagues.

To be considered for this role, you must hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Pay: £27,934.40 - £27,934.40 per Annum, based on experience (40 hours per week).

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday.

Location: 19 Woodland Road, Northfield, Birmingham, West Midlands, B31 2HU.

About Our Nursery

Our Northfield nursery is right in the heart of our community. Inside, the nursery has six rooms which are equally split into areas to accommodate babies, toddlers, and pre-school. All the rooms have plenty of space to explore and investigate, as well as to promote children’s curiosity and their drive to learn new things. We are located in a quiet residential area of Northfield, just off the A38 and a short distance from Northfield Train Station, providing easy access for anyone commuting into Birmingham. Parking is available outside for convenience.

What Being a Senior Nursery Practitioner Involves

As a Senior Nursery Practitioner, you will work alongside the Nursery Manager to lead and inspire your team while delivering exceptional care and education. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and mentoring the team to provide high-quality early years education with passion and energy.
  • Supporting the Nursery Manager to ensure smooth nursery operations and consistent quality.
  • Acting as a role model by promoting initiative, creativity, and high standards of care.
  • Building strong relationships with families, colleagues, and external agencies to support the best outcomes for children.
  • Overseeing the team’s implementation of the EYFS framework, ensuring engaging learning opportunities.
  • Taking charge of nursery operations in the Nursery Manager’s absence.
  • Encouraging continuous improvement through feedback and supporting professional development.
  • Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that meets each child’s needs.
