Kiddie Capers Childcare Lewes is a charming and quirky building nestled at the end of Cliffe High Street in Lewes. Surrounded by a beautiful river, a nature reserve, and a local playground, our newest setting offers a truly inspiring environment for children to learn, play, and grow.

Role: Senior Room Leader

As a Senior Room Leader, you will play a key role in leading a room within our nursery, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. You will support the team in delivering high-quality care and Early Years education in line with the EYFS. Your leadership will help maintain a positive and organised setting where each child’s development is supported and celebrated. You will also work closely with the management team, taking on additional responsibilities to support the wider nursery when needed.

Hours & Pay

  • 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, fully flexible
  • £33,280.00 per annum

Requirements

  • A minimum of level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent
  • Experience of working in a childcare setting
  • Experience in being a Room Leader in a nursery setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Responsibilities

  • Lead the designated room ensuring high quality care for every child
  • Deliver and support high-quality EYFS-based learning tailored to individual needs
  • Assist with personal care, meal preparation, and general cleanliness
  • Maintain accurate records for safeguarding, health & safety, and attendance
  • Ensure safety, security, and cleanliness across the nursery, including fire and hygiene checks
  • Mentor staff, model best practices, and uphold nursery policies and values
  • Build strong partnerships with parents/carers, and external professionals
  • Organise engaging indoor/outdoor activities that promote learning through play
  • Plan and manage safe and well-documented nursery outings
