Senior Occupational Therapist
Are you an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist looking for an opportunity to grow and develop?
If so, join Pinhoe View in Exeter, a purpose-built facility where a range of mental health services are provided for adults with acute mental health conditions.
You will be instrumental in promoting health and independence by delivering high quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions, along with providing clinical leadership, supervision, and consultation to the wider multidisciplinary team.
You will be key in demonstrating highly specialist expertise and specialist occupational therapy skills in areas such as occupational engagement, environmental adaption, development and maintenance of skills needed for meaningful participation.
You will also have experience in managing a designated caseload using theoretical and practical experience, completing assessments, planning, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans.

Your Responsibilities As An Occupational Therapist Will Include
- Receive and respond promptly to new admissions, undertaking assessments to identify and prioritise patient needs. The OT team follow (MOHO) The Model of Human Occupation.
- Plan, deliver and evaluate evidence-based interventions. These will provide patients with the confidence, skills and coping strategies to function in everyday life.
- Contribute to risk assessments, formulations, attend ward rounds and CPA meetings and provide feedback on patients’ engagement in Occupational Therapy and achievement of goals.
- Develop close working relationships with clinical colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring clinical practice is in line with Elysium policies and procedures and complies with statutory regulations and quality standards.
- Maintain effective communication links with patients, relatives, carers and external professionals throughout a patient’s rehabilitation journey.
- Ensure accurate and contemporaneous electronic records are maintained.
- Take a lead within the Occupational Therapy team in the absence of the lead.
- Ensure the effective management and supervision of more junior staff.
- Contribute to service evaluation and development.

To Be a Successful Occupational Therapist You Will Need
- An Occupational Therapy profession qualification
- UK HCPC registration
- Extensive and relevant post qualification clinical experience within an adult service
- Extensive experience of applying occupational frames of reference and approaches
- Demonstrates evidence of highly effective clinical reasoning skills
- Highly specialist knowledge of relevant assessment and treatment models

Location: Pinhoe View, College Way, EXETER, EX1 3PZ
Join the team at Pinhoe View - a purpose-built facility where a range of mental health services are provided for adults with acute mental health conditions across two wards and eight individual flats.
The 24-hour acute inpatient service is supported by a full multidisciplinary team, which specialises in the assessment, treatment and stabilisation of people suffering from a significant mental health episode and in crisis.
Clinical and therapeutic services at Pinhoe View are delivered in a safe environment, providing the opportunity for recovery, while rehabilitation services provide a pathway of care supporting individuals back to their community.
