Senior Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist - Urgent Care & Frailty

An Exciting Opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive individual to join our Urgent Care and Frailty Therapy team as a static band 6 Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist at Northampton General Hospital, part of the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire. This is a fixed term contract for 12 months, secondments will be considered, part time 22.5hrs per week.

About the Role

This role will help you to strengthen and further develop your core and specialist clinical skills, as well as allowing you the opportunity to be involved in staff development, audit and service improvement.

The Team

The Urgent Care and Frailty Team consists of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy Support Staff. The Team covers the Emergency Department, Nye Bevan Assessment Unit and the Frailty Assessment Unit. We also work very closely with the extended multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

Previous experience of working as an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist across a broad range of specialities including acute medicine, care of the elderly, respiratory and orthopaedics would be beneficial in this field. We welcome applicants looking to further develop their band 6 skills with the opportunity to partake in our Leading an Empowered Organisation (LEO) Leadership course. As well as our placement educator training received from the University of Northampton.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
