Senior Operations Manager

23 Month Fixed Term Contract/Full Time: 35 hours per week

Salary: £65,000 - £72,000 + Benefits

Location: Home based in England, Scotland or Wales with occasional national travel

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering Enginuity’s strategic ambitions by leading operational delivery across a diverse portfolio of services, projects, research and solutions. Working closely with the Associate Director of Charity Operations and Impact, you will translate strategic priorities into clear delivery plans, governance processes and measurable outcomes, ensuring activities are aligned to organisational goals and deliver lasting impact.

The role involves overseeing programme and service delivery, driving continuous improvement, supporting business planning and growth, and ensuring effective governance, risk management, compliance and performance reporting. You will also lead and develop colleagues across the Technical Solutions & Research and Impact & Delivery teams, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.

We are looking for a strategic and organised leader with experience managing complex portfolios, programmes, products or services from planning through to evaluation. You will be skilled at balancing priorities, using data and insight to inform decisions, and communicating complex information clearly to a range of stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have strong leadership, planning and relationship-building skills, alongside experience in governance, risk management, performance reporting and continuous improvement. A background in the skills, education, engineering, manufacturing or charity sectors would be advantageous, particularly within organisations that use data and technology to drive impact and enhance services.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
