Have you successfully led large-scale teams through challenging, fast-paced operational environments? Do you have the discipline and operational expertise to lead a high-volume 24/7 warehouse operation for one of GXO’s high-profile customers?

Join GXO as a Senior Operations Manager, to lead the outbound operation at our Avonmouth site, supporting a high-profile Amazon contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing operation that has made significant progress over the last 12 months and still has an exciting journey ahead. You'll lead a high-volume environment processing 30,000–40,000 orders per day (80,000 during peak), driving operational excellence, leading large teams and ensuring process compliance remains at the heart of everything you do. We're looking for a hands-on, resilient leader who can navigate operational challenges, maintain momentum in a fast-paced environment and continuously improve performance, service and customer experience.

This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 17:00 (flexibility will be required) for Amazon based in Avonmouth.

We’re looking to offer a salary up to £65,000 per annum, depending on experience, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Lead all outbound operations across a 24/7 fulfilment centre, ensuring orders are processed and dispatched safely, accurately and on time
  • Serve as a primary operational contact for Amazon, including daily and weekly performance reviews, building strong stakeholder relationships, managing escalations, and providing clear, data-led updates
  • Build, coach and develop a large operational leadership team, creating a culture of accountability, engagement and high performance
  • Drive operational performance through robust process adherence, KPI management and a relentless focus on customer experience
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, quality, service and cost performance
  • Partner with key stakeholders across Transport, HR, Safety and customer teams to overcome challenges and deliver operational excellence

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Proven senior leadership experience within a high-volume logistics, ecommerce, warehousing, operation
  • A resilient leadership style with the ability to perform under pressure and deliver results in a demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Strong operational and analytical skills, with a track record of driving process compliance, performance improvement and customer service excellence
  • Experience leading large teams within a 24/7 operational setting
