Senior Operations Manager

THE ROLE

As a brand-new Senior Operations Manager, you will report to the Chief Commercial Officer and take full operational accountability for:

  • Health surveillance programmes
  • Onsite occupational health nurse teams
  • Client request scheduling and bookings
  • MCL Resourcing (our internal staffing unit)

You will own end-to-end performance, quality, and client experience, balancing leadership and hands-on delivery in a rapidly expanding business.

What You Will Do

  • Capacity & resource planning: Ensure the right people, equipment, and clinicians are deployed to the right places at the right times for client sites.
  • Team leadership: Lead managers and coordinators, while directing the operational workflow of onsite nurses.
  • Service excellence: Drive SLA compliance across:
    • Turnaround times
    • Quality & safety standards
    • Billing accuracy
  • Resilience building: Design backup models so critical functions are not single-point dependent.
  • Continuous improvement: Identify inefficiencies, test fixes, and ** confidently implement** changes across your operations.
  • Regulatory accountability: Oversee compliance with GDPR and ISO standards for your operational scope.
  • Strategic alignment: Collaborate with senior leadership to realign operational goals with company priorities.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We seek a preferably healthcare-regulated operational leader who embodies:

  • Proven operational management experience, ideally within occupational health or a similar regulated clinical environment.
  • A logistics-minded problem-solver who:
    • Sees interdependencies between people, time, equipment, and locations.
    • Anticipates bottlenecks.
    • Enjoys dismantling complex delivery challenges.
  • Hands-on leadership: Equally adept at designing solutions and execution.
  • Exceptional people management skills, with experience building capable, motivated teams—and managing line managers.
  • Commercial awareness and confidence in non-clinical leadership roles, while respecting clinical authority.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
