## Job Overview
**Role:** Event Operations Manager (Great British Farm Fest)
**Location:** Hertfordshire
**Work Arrangement:** 5 days per week, full-time
**Salary:** up to £50,000 per annum
A leading organiser of large-scale outdoor consumer events is recruiting an experienced **Senior Event Operations Manager** to join its operations team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly organised and commercially astute **event professional** with extensive experience delivering complex outdoor events, especially within music festivals and large-scale environments.
## About the Role
Reporting directly to the **Head of Operations**, the ideal candidate will lead all **operational delivery** of an exciting outdoor event portfolio. Responsibilities include managing contractors, suppliers, venues, infrastructure, compliance, and onsite teams while driving operational excellence. The role requires a **proactive leader** who thrives in fast-paced environments, manages multiple projects simultaneously, and maintains high standards under pressure.

### Key Responsibilities
- **Event Operations Leadership**: Oversee the entire operational lifecycle of annual large-scale outdoor events, from concept planning to onsite execution.
- **Operational Planning**:
- Develop comprehensive event operations plans, timelines, and delivery schedules.
- Manage infrastructure, logistics, and site operations.
- **Stakeholder Management**: Lead relationships with suppliers, venues, local authorities, contractors, and exhibitors.
- **Exhibitor Coordination**: Ensure seamless onboarding and execution for exhibitors throughout the event lifecycle.
- **Onsite Delivery**:
- Conduct site visits, contractor briefings, and stakeholder reviews.
- Lead build, live event management, and breakdown phases.
- Manage compliance with health & safety, licensing, and industry best practice (including the *Purple Guide*).
- **Financial Oversight**: Monitor operational budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure fiscal responsibility.
- **Risk & Contingency**: Develop risk assessments, operational procedures, and contingency plans.
- **Decision-Making**: Facilitate real-time problem-solving during live events.
- **Team Leadership & Development**:
- Mentor junior team members (e.g., Event Operations Managers and Coordinators).
- Drive internal process improvements to elevate operational efficiency and standards.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with commercial, marketing, exhibitor, and event teams for seamless execution.

Requirements
Essential
- Experience: Significant background in live event operations, logistics, or outdoor event delivery, with priority given to music festivals and large-scale consumer events.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Expertise in event infrastructure, site logistics, crowd management, and contractor management.
- Deep understanding of health & safety legislation, risk management, and Purple Guide compliance.
- Financial Acumen: Experience managing operational budgets and multi-project management.
- Leadership: Proven ability to mentor teams, resolve conflict, and lead from the front during events.
- Communication: Excellent stakeholder relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to Detail: Highly organised, with strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
- Resilience: Comfortable working in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.

Strong Preference
- Direct experience diagnosing and rectifying critical issues during live onsite delivery.
Note: Applicants without direct experience in music festivals or large-scale outdoor events will not be considered.
