The Role

We’re looking for an empowered passionate team player who drives operational excellence, shapes culture, and delivers consistent results. As Senior Operations Manager, you’ll:

Drive Succession & Talent Development

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and team growth in your region.
  • Build strong production team "family trees" to ensure a seamless succession plan.
  • Act as a role model, embodying Pret’s culture of kindness, honesty, and generosity.
  • Guarantee the right people are in the right roles for productivity and happiness.
  • Prioritise a healthy work-life balance while fostering long-term wellbeing.

Deliver Business Performance

  • Coach managers to cultivate exceptional customer experiences.
  • Uphold food and service standards through rigorous training and oversight.
  • Lead forecasting, rotas, ordering, and production to maximise sales and profitability.
  • Optimise regional P&L, analysing performance and resolving obstacles proactively.

Embed and Lead Change

  • Inspire adoption of new standards and initiatives through transparent communication.
  • Hold team feedback sessions, ensuring accountability and support.
  • Familiarise teams with business changes, new systems, or strategic priorities.

Key Relationships

Reports directly to the Head of Operations within a clear day-to-day and strategic full-time role (42h/week).


About the Role

As Senior Operations Manager, you’ll drive regional excellence while supporting the Senior Leadership Team.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership: Align regional objectives with global goals.
  • People leadership: Mentor senior teams in management and HR.
  • Results & standards: Model excellence and set ownership of performance metrics.
  • Problem-solving: Collaborate with internal/external partners to refine operations.
  • Mentorship: Support newly promoted Operations Managers.
  • Stakeholder management: Step into Head of Operations responsibilities when needed.
  • Cross-regional collaboration: Build strong bonds with other parts of the geographies.
  • Innovation: Challenge the status quo and continuous improvement.

The Interview Process

  1. Initial Discussion – 30-minute conversation with our recruitment team.
  2. In-person Interview – 1-hour meet-and-greet with the hiring manager in London’s Victoria MUCC (Multi Use Commercial Canopy).
  3. Additional Stages – Potential visits to our stores, shadowing days, or stakeholder meetings (depending on role).
