Location: St James Quarter Edinburgh

Job Type: Permanent Full-time

Salary: £40-42 Depending on Experience

Start Date: ASAP

Days Required: Flexible working days - 5 days out of 7

Hours: 40 hours per week

As Senior Operations Manager, you will work closely with the Venue Manager to shape operational excellence, drive continuous improvement, and ensure the highest standards of service delivery, safety, and compliance. This is a highly visible leadership position offering genuine scope to make a lasting impact.

Reporting to the Venue Manager, you will lead the operational function, ensuring the efficient day-to-day running of the venue while contributing to long-term business objectives. You will collaborate with senior leadership, internal teams, contractors, and external partners to deliver exceptional operational performance in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be a confident leader with strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee daily operational performance, ensuring compliance with company policies, legislative requirements, and industry best practice.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and service quality.
  • Support the development and delivery of strategic operational plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Promote a strong culture of health, safety, and compliance, managing risk and incident response effectively.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with internal departments, contractors, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure operational readiness for events, peak trading periods, and other business-critical activities.
  • Monitor operational performance through KPIs, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing effective solutions.
  • Support, coach, and develop operational teams to maximise engagement and performance.
  • Contribute to budgeting, resource planning, and operational decision-making.

About You

We're looking for a driven and ambitious Operations Manager who is ready to broaden their leadership responsibilities.

  • Proven experience as an Operations Manager within a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop teams.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
