Role Overview
Join our collaborative Operations Supervisor team at ThermoFisher Scientific. In this hybrid leadership operations role, you will:
- Guide and mentor teams to deliver excellence in manufacturing and operational standards.
- Supervise production activities, enforce quality standards, and drive continuous improvement.
- Oversee regulatory compliance, ensuring processes meet legal and industry requirements.
- Balance leadership and hands-on operations for product quality and timely delivery.
- Support a culture that values safety, engagement, and collaborative problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily production operations toward operational goals.
- Lead and develop teams:
- Conduct one-to-one meetings.
- Utilize performance management (PMDs) and employee support tools.
- Foster a high-performing, inclusive culture.
- Apply continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., lean manufacturing).
- Ensure team adherence to quality management systems and regulatory standards.
- Create and analyze KPIs to track and enhance performance.
- Collaborate across functions to achieve business objectives.
- Troubleshoot operational challenges with data-driven solutions.
- Maintain operational excellence and streamlined processes.
Key Requirements
Education & Experience
- Degree preferred in engineering, science, business, or a related technical field.
- Experience required:
- Supervising manufacturing/production operations.
- Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen).
- Working in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to COMAH environments preferred.
- Employees: Experience in PMDs, team development, and performance management.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of quality management systems.
Personal Attributes
- **Leading a staff of 50+ lbs occasionally; standing/walking for extended periods.
- Ability to work weekends, overtime, or on-call as required.
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and stakeholder collaboration.
- Exceptional written and verbal communications.
