ABOUT THE ROLE:

Working closely with the Flake Area Manager, the Senior Operator will be the first point of contact on shift and will support the team in delivering top quality products in a safe working environment where good manufacturing practice is followed to the highest standard.

Key tasks of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • To assist in the operational training of team members within the area of responsibility
  • To monitor and report upon non-conformance to hour-by-hour targets, leading continuous improvement activity and assisting to generate abnormality management practices and revised standards
  • To ensure that systems are in place to ensure the smooth running of the department in area of responsibility
  • To support projects in the area of responsibility to improve performance, capacity, Health and Safety, Quality, OEE, Food Safety and Environmental impact
  • To support and monitor compliance to processes and procedures that are in place, to achieve and maintain legal compliance, company standards and external accreditation
  • To ensure that you operate in accordance with the roles and responsibilities as set out as being relevant to your job within the group Health and Safety Policy
  • Your personal safety and that of all personal including others who may be affected by the Company’s activities
  • Challenging unsafe behaviours
  • Adhering to the duties required for your role within the Health and Safety policy
  • Promoting and enforcing behaviours and actions that will prevent all contamination threats to products whether physical, microbial or chemical
  • Escalate immediately reporting on the status of any non-compliance in the system or process to management for counter measure or immediate remedy

The ideal candidate will be someone with experience of working in a similar leadership role within a food manufacturing environment, with great communication and prioritisation skills and attention to detail.

WHAT HOURS WILL I WORK?

The shift pattern is 2 days 7am-7pm, 1 day off, 2 nights 7pm-7am followed by 3 days off.

WHERE YOU’LL WORK?

You'll be based at our Whittlesey plant in Peterborough. If you’ve spotted our three wind turbines, then you’ll know where we are! With about 350 employees on site, we’re one of our largest plants across the GB business. Our Whittlesey plant is where we make our famous French Fries as well as our chilled products, such as our Shake Shake Fries.
