At Point One People, we believe better and more inclusive tech teams build better products, businesses, and cultures.
Founded by technologists and built around a mission to improve diversity and inclusion outcomes in tech, we believe recruitment can be commercially successful without becoming transactional, aggressive, or purely KPI-driven.
We’re now hiring our first permanent 360 tech recruiter, someone who wants real ownership, enjoys building meaningful relationships, and is excited by the opportunity to help shape a growing business from the ground up!
Please note: candidates must be UK residents and have the right to work in the UK as we cannot offer visa sponsorship.
About Point One:
Point One is a progressive tech recruitment business built around a simple belief: better, more inclusive teams build better products, businesses, and cultures.
We’re not a typical agency; we’re founded by technologists, and we combine deep industry understanding with a relationship-led approach to hiring. We understand the systems, teams, and challenges our clients work with because we’ve worked inside them ourselves.
We specialise in retained search and contract recruitment across Digital, Technology, and Change, helping organisations build high-performing teams while improving diversity, equity, and inclusion outcomes within the tech industry.
Unlike traditional high-volume agency models, we focus on long-term partnerships, high-quality delivery, and finding talent beyond the obvious networks.
Point One was founded by Paul O’Donnell, who spent 25 years leading software development teams before launching the business with a mission to challenge exclusionary and transactional recruitment practices in tech.
About the role:
This is a 360 recruitment role with a strong focus on relationship-building, business development, and long-term partnerships. You’ll be responsible for growing and managing your own market and building trusted client relationships.
We are not a transactional agency environment built around volume outreach and aggressive sales tactics. This is a commercially focused role, so confidence in business development, networking, and relationship management will be essential to success.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
As our first permanent hire, you’ll also have the exciting opportunity to help shape processes, contribute ideas, and influence how we grow over time!
We’re still evolving as a business, so this role will suit someone who enjoys autonomy, takes ownership naturally, and is comfortable operating in an environment where not everything is fully defined yet.
What you’ll be doing:
- Building and managing long-term client relationships with organisations aligned to our values
- Generating new business opportunities through networking, referrals, relationship-building, and proactive outreach
- Managing the full recruitment lifecycle across both client and candidate relationships
- Identifying, engaging, and supporting candidates, with a strong focus on inclusive and equitable hiring practices
- Building talent pipelines, networks, and communities within your market
- Attending networking events and representing Point One externally within the tech and recruitment industries
- Supporting marketing, content, and community initiatives that help grow Point One’s visibility and mission
- Helping shape recruitment processes, candidate experience, and the future growth of the business
What we’re looking for:
- 360 agency recruitment within tech recruitment
- Commitment to diversity, equity & inclusion (you don’t need to know everything, but you should be open-minded and keen to learn)
- Strong business development confidence and experience building client relationships
- Commercially aware, proactive, and confident spotting opportunities
- Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable working with a high level of autonomy in a growing startup environment
This role won’t be right for you if you:
- Have been working as an internal TA for the last few years (this is an agency role)
- Prefer highly structured environments with constant direction and oversight
- Are primarily motivated by transactional recruitment and short-term wins rather than relationship-building and long-term impact
- Want a purely 180 role focused only on sourcing
- Are uncomfortable with ambiguity, visibility, or helping shape processes as the business evolves
- See diversity and inclusion as a “nice to have” rather than an important part of building strong teams and businesses
