About You
Core Responsibilities
As a Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer, your role includes:
Supporting multi-disciplinary (MEP) engineering projects from inception to completion, engaging closely with clients to help them achieve their objectives.
You will:
- Lead projects from concept to detailed design, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery
- Oversee project teams, deliverables, resourcing, and budgets while maintaining high design standards
- Champion mechanical design concepts and scalable solutions
- Develop design calculations and deliverables to regulatory standards
- Mentor junior engineers and support their chartered professional development
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture with both internal and external teams
- Drive innovation, process improvement, and technical excellence initiatives

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
Essential Criteria:
- Relevant degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
- Minimum 7+ years’ experience in consultancy-based building services design
- Proven track record working across multiple sectors, with a preference for healthcare and education projects
- Proficiency in BIM processes, specifically:
- Revit for MEP modelling
- IES VC or Vegeta (preferred)
- Ability to deliver high-quality, sustainable designs on complex projects
- Strong commitment to client collaboration and outcomes
Preferred Skills:
- Chartered status (CEng / IEng) or active pursuit
- Experience managing small engineering teams
- Familiarity with sustainability standards (BREEAM, Passivhaus, LEED)
- Experience measuring and monitoring energy efficiency in buildings
