Clinical Trials Statistician – Senior/Principal

About the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide high-quality statistical support and take on responsibilities aligned with experience and interest, including:
- Supervisory roles (e.g., line management, project leadership)
- Direct client engagement, particularly in scenarios with no internal statistical support
- Independent project management with a focus on delivering excellence
Ideal candidates bring significant experience in clinical studies and regulatory submissions, are comfortable working without immediate supervision, and understand client-facing demands. Strong communication skills are essential—including translating statistical concepts for non-specialists and delivering presentations to client teams confidently.
Key Responsibilities
- Statistical oversight of clinical studies at project level
- Provision of statistical input across the lifecycle of clinical studies
- Review and oversight of statistical deliverables from other Contract Research Organizations (CROs)
- Development and/or review of study documentation, including:
- Statistical sections of protocols
- Statistical Analysis Plans (SAPs)
- Study design activities, such as:
- Sample size calculations
- Ad-hoc and exploratory analyses
- Additional statistical support across client projects as required
- Confident coding in R, SAS, or other non-SAS languages (or readiness to upskill)

Experience & Skills
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Senior to Principal-level experience as a statistician in a clinical research environment
- Hands-on experience in:
- Clinical studies execution
- Regulatory submissions
- Ability to work independently with client-facing accountability
- Strong communication skills—ability to:
- Simplify complex statistical concepts
- Present findings effectively to non-technical teams
- Curiosity, initiative, and a drive for continuous learning
Desirable Experience & Skills
- Study design and sample size calculation expertise
- Regulatory submissions experience
- Basic knowledge or willingness to learn (self-direct) in:
- Bayesian methods
- Causal inference modelling
- Specialisation in Oncology and/or CNS (Central Nervous System) therapeutic areas
