Job Description: PPA & Energy Origination Manager – UK & Germany

METLEN Energy & Metals is seeking a PPA & Energy Origination Manager – UK & Germany to join our M Renewables Division in London, UK.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in originating, structuring, and executing power contracts across key European markets, supporting the growth of our renewable and energy storage portfolio.

Responsibilities

The PPA & Energy Origination Manager will support the origination, structuring, negotiation, and execution of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and BESS Tolling Agreements across the UK and German markets. The successful candidate will work closely with commercial, legal, finance, development, and technical teams to progress transactions, manage counterparties, and support investment decisions across renewable and energy storage assets.

Your role will encompass:

  • Supporting the origination and execution of Corporate and Utility PPAs across the UK and Germany.
  • Assisting in the origination and negotiation of BESS tolling agreements and optimiser contracts.
  • Managing commercial negotiations from NDAs and Heads of Terms through to contract execution, under senior supervision where required.
  • Supporting contract structuring, including pricing mechanisms, volume profiles, shaping, imbalance, and credit terms.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with corporates, utilities, traders, aggregators, and BESS optimisers.
  • Developing and managing a strong origination pipeline across the UK and German markets.
  • Coordinating with Development, Finance, Legal, and Technical teams to progress transactions efficiently.
  • Monitoring power market trends, regulatory developments, and pricing dynamics to support commercial decision-making.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 4–6 years of experience in energy origination, PPA structuring, energy trading, or a similar commercial role.
  • Experience supporting or executing PPAs and/or BESS-related contracts.
  • Strong understanding of the UK and German power markets.
  • Solid knowledge of power price risk, shaping, and merchant exposure.
  • Excellent analytical, commercial, and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously and prioritise effectively.
  • A degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Fluent English (mandatory).
