Senior OT Engineer
Your role The SCADA Technology & Solutions Lead owns the enterprise‑level direction for SCADA and IT/OT convergence within a consultancy and client advisory context. The role ensures that SCADA and OT integration solutions are technically coherent, secure, scalable, and operationally fit‑for‑purpose, aligned with enterprise digital transformation strategies, OT operating models, IT architecture, data, network, and cybersecurity policies. It establishes the architectural and design foundations required to enable sustainable OT‑to‑IT integration and cloud‑ready, data‑driven operational capabilities across multi‑site utility environments.
Key responsibilities Lead enterprise SCADA and OT platform option assessments, defining future‑ready reference architectures across centralised, distributed, and hybrid deployment models. Provide technical leadership across converged IT/OT domains, assuring alignment of requirements, architectures, standards, roadmaps, and business case inputs. Define and govern vendor‑agnostic SCADA and OT platform selection criteria, covering interoperability, lifecycle management, supportability, and future‑proofing. Own and shape the Unified Namespace and standardisation approach, including asset models, naming conventions, signals, events, and metadata. Champion modern OT integration patterns, enabling secure, scalable and event‑driven data flows between OT, enterprise, and cloud platforms. Chair architectural and technical design reviews, managing key risks, assumptions, constraints, and decisions with clear auditability.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
