Lead programme delivery in water infrastructure
Purpose And Scope Of The Role
Tetra Tech’s Water Consultancy is seeking a Senior P6 Planner to join the Water Team in Warrington or Newcastle, supporting AMP8 and AMP9 frameworks across the UK. You will lead schedule development and project controls for technically demanding wastewater infrastructure packages, creating, updating and monitoring programmes in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project under NEC3/4. Daily activities include coordinating construction inputs, analysing progress, assessing compensation events and producing concise reports for project and programme managers. You will work within a multidisciplinary team on multi‑million-pound projects.
Your Impact In This Position
You will immediately raise schedule accuracy and transparency, enabling better operational decisions on live projects. Over the medium term, you will lead complex workstream scheduling, support change control and cost forecasting, and drive mitigation strategies.
Core Capabilities
Primavera P6 expertise - Expert in creating, maintaining and optimising detailed schedules, resource profiles and baseline management using Primavera P6. Project controls & reporting - Proficient in earned value analysis, cost forecasting, change control and delivering clear, timely progress reporting. Construction sequencing & logic - Deep understanding of design, construction and commissioning sequences to define critical paths and assess delay impacts. Stakeholder communication - Able to translate schedule data into actionable advice, lead programme reviews and support client and contractor engagement. Risk & data integrity - Strong analytical skills to identify trends, manage risks and ensure accuracy of schedule and progress data.

Skills, Qualifications And Experience
Expected: bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and a valid UK driving licence. Desirable: PMI‑SP, PSP or equivalent planning certification and prior water‑sector experience.
Work patterns & locations:
Hybrid role based in Warrington or Newcastle; typically 2–3 days per week in the office, regular site visits to Lingley Mere, and regional sites as required.
