My client are a privately owned designer and manufacturing of packaging for the UK retail market. For over 40 years, this business has been at the forefront of innovation, sustainability, and manufacturing processes within their sector, supplying some of the biggest brands in the UK.

Position: Senior Packaging Designer
We are looking for an experienced Senior Packaging Designer to take ownership of the design and development of new packaging, as well as providing technical support to the wider business. This role requires a hands-on professional with a passion for technical advancement in standards, conceptual design, and visualisation.

Key Responsibilities
- Use specialist software to create and implement design parametrics for use by the wider commercial and design teams.
- Work with production to ensure new designs fit complex DfM standards and processes.
- Lead New Product Development activity within the commercial function and liaise closely with wider teams on innovations in the product ranges.
- Test and approve designs using ISTA standards.
- Supervise a small team to ensure optimized processes and efficient use of resources.
- Work closely with MD to continue and expand on the company's commitment to achieving internationally recognised standards in recycling and sustainability standards.
Ideal Candidate Profile

- At least 10 years’ experience in a similar role within the packaging sector, preferably in corrugated or FBB environment.
- The ability to design and implement ‘parametrics’ in software such as Impact or Kasemake is essential.
- Qualifications in either a vocational or engineering focused discipline.
- Strong knowledge of packaging manufacturing and design processes, materials, and production.
- Excellent communication skills, and able to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and leading a small team.
