Job Overview/Summary
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Packing Manager to join our ready-meals production operation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of packing operations, ensuring that production runs safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
The role will also include extended responsibilities to provide cover for the Production Manager during maternity leave, including supporting the wider production operation and taking responsibility for the effective management of production activities when required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day packing operation within a busy ready-meals production environment.
- Ensure production plans are achieved safely, efficiently and on time.
- Lead, manage and motivate packing and production teams.
- Monitor labour requirements, productivity and operational performance.
- Ensure all products are packed correctly and meet customer, quality and food safety standards.
- Work closely with the Production, Quality, Technical, Warehouse and Engineering teams.
- Ensure company policies, procedures, health and safety requirements and food safety standards are followed.
- Identify operational issues and implement effective solutions.
- Support continuous improvement and efficiency projects.
- Monitor and manage staff performance, attendance and training requirements.
- Ensure accurate production records and documentation are completed.
- Provide operational cover and support for the Production Manager during maternity leave.
- Take on additional responsibility for wider production operations when required.
About You
- Previous experience in a management or senior supervisory role within a food manufacturing or ready-meals environment.
- Experience managing production or packing teams.
- Strong understanding of production processes, food safety and health and safety requirements.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Ability to analyse performance and drive improvements.
- Flexible and willing to take on additional responsibilities.
- Experience working with production KPIs and labour planning would be advantageous.
