Senior PA/QA Engineer – Spaceflight Hardware

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior PA/QA Engineer to ensure high-quality standards in the design, manufacture, and verification of spaceflight hardware. This role involves participation in technical reviews, risk assessments, and supplier management throughout the hardware lifecycle.
Location: London On-site requirement: 1-2 months Security clearance: SC (Secret) clearance required Experience level: Senior
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain Process Assurance/Quality Assurance (PA/QA) requirements for mechanisms and structural components
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and technical boards for non-conformances and anomalies
- Support selection of materials, mechanical parts, and processes, including verification and contamination control
- Inspect hardware at key stages: incoming, pre-test, and post-test
- Collaborate with suppliers to define and enforce requirements, resolving non-conformances as needed
- Maintain quality management systems and associated documentation

Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
- Mandatory experience within the space industry
- 5+ years in PA/QA for regulated manufacturing, ideally within spaceflight
- Knowledge of materials, mechanical parts, and space hardware processes
- Experience in testing, verification, and reporting
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience
Desirable Qualifications
- Strong documentation and quality management skills
- Experience in supplier management
- Familiarity with spacecraft integration and assembly processes will be beneficial
