About the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with some of our larger Partner businesses to provide support and guidance on their growth, both organic or by acquisition. This includes the Business Sale and Purchase Scheme, Business Succession Planning, Management Buy Ins/Outs, Mergers, De Mergers. Advocate relevant policies and procedures for the BSP scheme where lending and structuring guidance is key, and assess the viability of Partners current and future finance needs whilst working in tandem with other Specialists within the Partner Finance Division.
What you'll be doing:
- Work alongside our top businesses to help shape deals and provide guidance in line with our policies on borrowing, accounting and financial control
- Promote our financial and lending policies across the business including to members of our Partnership and individuals within our Field Management Team
- Provide consultancy support on Business Sale and Purchase, BSP transactions which will involve a combination of face-to-face and Zoom meetings
- Work with other areas of the business including Corporate Finance, Taxation and Treasury to support conversations with external solicitors and accountants
- Project manage Management Buy-Ins and Management Buy-outs, acting as a conduit between the Buyer and Seller and their external professional advisers
- Maintain close relationships with the internal teams and stakeholders, attend meetings as required and work collaboratively for the right outcome
- Provide input for policy across the Partner Finance area, offer new approaches and ways to mitigate risk
- Grow the Partner BSP proposition by successfully completing deals and providing ideas for improving process, e.g. the use of AI to reduce timeframes
- In conjunction with area based teams to manage risk with the business, specially for the Partner Finance Division and meet regularly to highlight areas of concern

Who we're looking for:
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Corporate Finance and is likely to have an Accountancy or Legal Qualification. They will understand FCA Regulatory Authorisations requirements and the role of an SJP Partner Practice Business. They will be able to manage direct reports and create an environment where individuals and teams perform. They will hone Partner Finance consultancy skills to enable them to effectively influence Partners and become an expert on the Partner Finance service. They will lead the resolution of complex Partner disputes/issues utilising proven consultancy skills. They will be an excellent communicator and a high-quality presenter with gravitas and positive impact.
Essential Criteria
- Professional knowledge/experience of Corporate Finance
- Accountancy/Tax or Legal qualification
- Take personal responsibility for learning the required technical knowledge to deliver in the role
- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, confident presenter
- Ability to travel to other locations as and when required
