Senior Patent Paralegal
Senior Patent Paralegal – Novagraaf (Questel Group)

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Patent Paralegal to join our team. This position can be:
- Fully remote within the UK
- Hybrid/office-based in Norwich or London
- Permanent (full-time or part-time at 80%)
The candidate will work closely with our patent attorneys and paralegal team, supporting high-level duties across the entire patent lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Filing to Grant Support
- Monitor mailboxes and incoming correspondence, updating the records system for deadlines.
- Track critical fee-earner deadlines and formalities milestones.
- Prepare and file official patent forms via Online Filing 2.0, One IPO, and ePCT portals.
- Handle European Patent (EP) grant formalities, including obtaining translations and filing responses.
- Prepare validation estimates and coordinate with validation teams to file Unitary Patents and validations.
- Obtain signed Powers of Attorney (POAs) as required.
- Communicate with clients, draft template letters, send reminders, and manage invoicing.
- Liaise with foreign associates and coordinate international workflows.
- Compile patent portfolio schedules on request.
- Assist with design and utility model formalities where applicable.
- Process refunds and resolve accounts-related queries.
- Liaise with finance teams to approve invoices.
- Update process documentation and address ad-hoc requests.
- Handle telephone enquiries and forward messages appropriately.

Essential Requirements
✔ Extensive patent paralegal experience (strongly preferred) ✔ Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) qualification (essential) ✔ Proven ability in:
- Highly proficient organisation and deadline management
- Precise attention to detail in document preparation
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ambitious mindset with career progression goals
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving workloads
