Senior Patient Access Officer
Location: The Princess Grace Hospital, London Hours: Full-time, 37.5 per week (Mon–Fri, 7.30am–8pm duty coverage, 7.5-hour shifts, must be flexible) Contract: Permanent
About the Role
We’re seeking a Senior Patient Access Officer to support the Patient Access Leader in delivering high-quality, customer-focused services at the Patient Access Department. Your core responsibility will be providing hands-on supervision, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining a responsive, compliant service aligned with HCA UK’s mission to care for and improve human life.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer haut institutional standards — Ensure all administrative functions adhere to quality benchmarks.
- Team enablement — Equip colleagues with necessary tools/supplies; address any operational gaps.
- Patient match. — Confirm all patients meet HCA UK criteria for financial settlement—whether Sponsored or Self-funded.
- Escalation support — Work with the Patient Access Manager (PAM)/Patient Access Leader (PAL) for complex queries.
- Service management — Oversee waiting areas, rota planning, and staffing to prevent coverage gaps.
- Supervisory duties — Instruct team members, deputise for the PAL, and assist with complex tasks.

Key Requirements
- Essential:
- Proven experience in patient access or comparable roles.
- Supervisory experience in a healthcare/admin context.
- Strong numeracy and communication skills.
- Basic IT proficiency and understanding of medical terminology.
