Job Description
As the analytical engine of the payments function, you will report to the CBOO and own the optimization of auth rates, decline recovery, and routing logic. By interrogating messy multi-acquirer data using SQL, you'll drive direct commercial impact, reducing processing costs and improving renewal success for a high-growth scale-up.

What You Will Do
- Diagnose and recover declined transactions by analyzing complex retry logic and routing rules across a multi-MID payments stack including Primer and Axcess PS.
- Map per-transaction COGS across every gateway and FX fee to systematically reduce processing costs and improve reconciliation accuracy with Finance.
- Build and maintain live payments KPI dashboards covering auth rates and chargeback ratios to provide clear recommendations to senior stakeholders.
The ideal candidate
- Deep experience in high-risk, multi-acquirer payment environments, understanding the specific nuances of card schemes, MIT billing, and decline management.
- Proficient in SQL with the ability to wrangle messy, inconsistent data from webhooks, SFTP files, and acquirer statements without needing structured datasets.
- Strong analytical communicator who can translate complex data findings into actionable commercial strategies for leadership in a fast-moving, clean-sheet environment.
