Incard’s mission is to build the financial operating system for entrepreneurs.
We are focused on creating a system where business banking, financial tools, and application logic are coordinated into a single control layer.
Through the app store, entrepreneurs and developers can build industry-specific functionality as their business evolves.
We are a lean, highly motivated team committed to engineering excellence. We operate within a flat organizational structure. All engineers are expected to have strong communication skills and should be able to share knowledge with their teammates clearly and concisely.
About The Role
We are looking for an exceptional Lead Engineer to lead the major re-architecture of our payments service, which will process billions of dollars each month.
As the technical leader, you’ll be instrumental in shaping the architecture and execution of the next generation of our payments service. Your expertise in distributed systems, secure transactions, and high-availability architectures will be essential in building a robust, scalable payments infrastructure.
What You'll Do
Design and implement core components for a high-scale, low-latency payments platform. Integrate new banking partners and payment providers, building reliable and maintainable connectivity across multiple rails. Work across FX, Payment Rails, Peer-to-Peer, and internal flow-of-funds services to deliver seamless payment experiences. Contribute to new product capabilities including Stablecoin Orchestration, Flex Card, and Invoice Financing. Lead technical decisions related to architecture, scalability, security, and reliability. Collaborate with engineering, product, compliance, and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end solutions. Define and maintain high engineering standards, including best practices for testing, monitoring, and continuous deployment. Proactively identify and address technical risks in a complex, regulated environment. Develop comprehensive fraud protection mechanisms that provide robust controls for prevention, detection, and mitigation of financial fraud.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
