The Opportunity

We're seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator to join our central payroll team in Dartford, supporting the delivery of payroll for approximately 10,000 employees and operatives. This is a dynamic, fast-paced position where no two days are the same. You'll play a critical role in ensuring colleagues are paid accurately and on time, while contributing to a service that is efficient, compliant, and continuously improving.

What You'll Be Doing

Taking ownership of end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery Managing payroll activities including starters, leavers, salary changes, overtime, expenses, statutory and termination payments Administering payroll-related benefits such as pensions and salary sacrifice schemes Running reports, analysing data, and carrying out detailed validation checks Ensuring payroll compliance with relevant regulations and internal controls Supporting audit and governance requirements with confidence and accuracy Working closely with third-party providers to meet key deadlines Identifying opportunities to improve processes and drive efficiencies Supporting the wider team to maintain a smooth, professional payroll operation

Experience with these systems, or similar payroll platforms, would be highly advantageous:

iTrent SAP (reporting)

About You:

Proven payroll experience, ideally within a medium or large organisation Experience working with high-volume Knowledge of complex payroll environments (e.g. TUPE, pensions, unions, working agreements) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships Confidence to challenge appropriately and support robust decision-making Strong Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
