What To Expect
As a Senior Payroll Analyst, you will combine end-to-end Payroll expertise with experience in Product, Vendor and Strategy implementation on multiple People and Payroll work streams. You will work closely with Payroll teams on People, Payroll and IT side to gather business requirements and problem statements, draft system design specifications in collaboration with Product Managers, managing configuration, testing, integration, security and compliance for the internal HCM and Time and Attendance systems. You will be an integrating part in our continuous improvement process by analyzing current state, and developing and implementing the desired state using a strong analytical mindset to critically evaluate information using qualitative and quantitative techniques.
What You'll Do
- Support in leading the payroll delivery transformation project from conception through design, build, configuration, testing and implementation
- Be one of the main points of contact for the payroll vendor relationship in terms of communication, issues and resolutions
- Be one of the main points of contact for Tesla's systems functionality for the extended Tesla payroll team
- Act as the primary point of contact for all payroll specialists across EMEA, providing guidance on best practices, regional payroll processes, and operational standards
- Support payroll teams during high-volume payroll weeks, removing operational bottlenecks and ensuring smooth execution of critical timelines
- Drive the standardization and expansion of payroll processes and expertise across EMEA, identifying and implementing improvements to unaligned operations
- Rebuild inefficient workflows by leveraging internal teams, external partners, and product enhancements to create sustainable operational improvements
- Establish upstream audits and governance mechanisms to improve operational quality, hold teams accountable to standards, and challenge inefficient ways of working
- Drive the overall design, implementation and maintenance of various payroll solutions across the company while developing processes and procedures
- Design and maintain internal knowledge platforms for end-user experience and technical requirements

What You'll Bring
- Proven experience in operational payroll management with a track record of transforming workflows and standardizing processes within HR Operations and Payroll functions
- Experience in Payroll: High-level understanding of People and Payroll systems and how they interface
- Proven experience with developing payroll processes and procedures
- Demonstrated experience supporting internal payroll teams and providing operational guidance to resolve complex payroll challenges
- Ability to translate payroll vendor requirements into Tesla system requirements
- Ability to prepare and process payroll documentation in a timely manner
- Experience working with internal systems and platforms to support payroll operations would be a plus
- You do not need to be an expert in all EMEA countries' Payroll processes but need to have a high-level understanding of how the process functions
- Demonstrated critical thinking ability, problem solving skills, strong organizational and planning skills and ability to work reliably and efficiently under demanding deadlines
- Demonstrated analytical skills for data analysis and reporting. Able to detect inconsistencies in data and using data for decision-making
- Demonstrated ability to excel while working in a high volume, multi-stream work environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Effective communication with different stakeholders on multiple seniority levels
