What you’ll be doing
This role is all about working alongside managers, not sitting in the background. You’ll be their go-to for navigating people challenges, building confidence, and making better decisions.
- Partner with managers on day-to-day people matters, from performance and absence to more complex conduct and well-being situations
- Take the lead on employee relations cases end-to-end, keeping things fair, consistent, and commercially sound
- Coach and challenge managers to handle situations confidently, reducing reliance on “handing things over”
- Spot patterns and trends in cases, using data to highlight risks and improve how we operate
- Keep our processes practical and up to date, not just compliant, but actually useful
- Support and deliver training that helps managers build real capability, not just tick boxes
- Work closely with the wider People team to keep everything aligned and joined up
- Get involved in projects and policies that improve how manage and develop our people

What you’ll bring
- Experience handling employee relations cases of varying complexity and advising
- Confidence to influence, challenge and build trust with stakeholders
- A practical, commercial mindset — you balance risk with what works for the business
- Strong organisation and attention to detail across multiple cases
- CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience)
- TUPE experience is desirable
