Function: People and Culture

Role Grade: T+19/20

Contract: Full time/Part time - Permanent

Location: Pyms Lane, Crewe, CW1 3PL with flexible hybrid working

Purpose of the Role

Join the People and Culture team as a Senior People Advisor, where you will deliver expert HR support to line managers across the organisation, ensuring that policies and procedures are applied consistently in alignment with Bentley’s people strategy and business objectives.

Reporting to the Head of People Advisory Team, you’ll work alongside a team of experienced Senior People Advisors. As part of this collaborative team, you’ll have the autonomy to take initiative while tapping into the team’s shared expertise—collaborating, learning, and problem-solving in a dynamic, peer-driven environment.

This role is pivotal in advancing the People and Culture digital agenda and driving transformation by creating and delivering engaging communications for line managers, aimed at supporting their development and reducing reactive people-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise recruiting managers on offer proposals for internal and external candidates, ensuring compliance with reward, benefits, grading, and development guidelines
  • Manage complex employee relations cases
  • Ensure fair and consistent handling of absence, flexible working, performance, grievance, and disciplinary processes per Company Policy
  • Coach and influence managers on policy best practices
  • Partner with HR Business Partners to support people impact during organisational changes and restructures
  • Review people data analytics regularly to identify trends and drive process improvements
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and initiatives aligned with legislation and business goals
  • Serve as the key knowledge expert within the Senior HR Advisors group on designated topics, ensuring legal and efficient adherence to policies and procedures at Bentley

About the Team

You will be a key member of our Advisory team, which is made up of 8 dedicated professionals. You’ll provide tailored support to your own business areas, where your expertise will be truly valued. In addition to your core responsibilities, you’ll also have the chance to collaborate across different functions, gaining exposure to a wide variety of cases and experiences.

No two days are the same. This is a fast-paced role that offers continuous learning and development. The nature of the role can often be reactive, however, there are also plenty of opportunities to get involved in exciting project work, contribute to process improvements, and help shape the future of our HR service delivery.

About you – Skills and Experience

  • CIPD Level 7 (or equivalent) essential
  • A proven track record in a fast-moving HR Operational role
  • Experience working in a Manufacturing HR environment
  • Demonstrable experience of managing complex employee relation cases
  • Experience of working with trade unions
  • Good communication and influencing skills at all levels
  • Proven experience of coaching line managers
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and manage conflicting priorities
  • Proactive, enthusiastic and passionate about HR delivery and digitalisation
  • Experience of project management and implementation across functional areas
  • Able to Challenge, drive and support business areas to ensure appropriate Governance of people processes
  • Thorough knowledge of current UK employment legislation is essential
  • Competent at reporting, interpreting, understanding and presenting KPIs/data in order to make recommendations to the business
  • SAP SuccessFactors knowledge is desirable
