Senior People Business Partner

At the Atlassian Williams F1 Team, the Senior People Business Partner aligns People & Culture (P&C) strategies with business goals, overseeing multiple business units or a larger segment of the organisation. Responsible for high-level strategic planning, organisational development, and change management activities, the role involves:

  • Influencing senior leaders
  • Building strong partnerships
  • Shaping the overall P&C strategy in conjunction with the People Leadership Team (PLT)
  • Providing leadership to People Business Partnering (PBP) and acting as a role model within the People & Culture team

Main Duties

Strategic Partnership & Advisor Role

  • Act as a trusted advisor to coach senior leaders through one-on-one (1:1) sessions
  • Build Effective partnerships to evaluate and develop people-centric solutions
  • Work to develop senior leadership capability using the Williams Values & Behaviours framework

Change & Performance Leadership

  • Advise and support leadership on change and transformation projects linked to future state organisational needs
  • Develop and deliver a Workforce Plan addressing demand, capability gaps, and return on investment aligned with business strategy

Talent & Leadership Operationalisation

  • Partner with Employee Relations (ER) and the business to manage leadership changes while maintaining positive employee relations
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition (TA) and leadership on senior appointments and talent mapping, ensuring a strong pipeline of industry-aligned talent
  • Support senior leaders in setting Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), while overseeing key people processes—including End-of-Year Reviews and Compensation Reviews—to drive sustained high performance

Strategic Workforce Development

  • Oversee talent review aligned with business needs, anticipating future leadership and technical capability gaps, including succession planning and retention strategies
  • Use predictive analytics and data to forecast trends, optimise employee end-to-end journeys, and ensure processes remain cost-effective and ROI-driven

Cross-Functional Innovation & Consulting

  • Collaborate with Centres of Excellence (CoE) to drive innovation in P&C, ensuring a seamless and impactful employee experience across teams—including People Business Partnering, Employee Relations, Talent & Leadership, Reward, and the People Service Centre
  • Cultivate a performance-driven culture by fostering collaboration and sustainable high performance

Requirements

Education & Certifications

  • Extensive HR experience with a proven track record in strategic HR management and operational influence
  • Experience in leading organisational transformations and HR transformations
  • CIPD Level 7 (or equivalent professional certification)

  • Strategic Thinking – Analyses needs, identifies long-term opportunities, and creates HR-driven competitive advantages
